The Island of Legends
The legendary isle of the Langkawi is located in Kedah,
north-west of of Peninsula Malaysia. Comprising a group of
104 islands, the biggest being Langkawi,it is a place for
those seeking tranquility and refuge from the hustle and bustle

Mystical Landmarks & Spectacular Sights
- Mahsuri's Tomb-
The final resting place of Langkawi's legendary
daughter, Mahsuri, a beautiful maiden who lived more than 200 years ago.
She was a victims of malicious accusations that led to her being
condemned to death. In her dying breath,she laid a curse that Langkawi
will not prosper for the next seven generations. But that was many,
many generations ago.
- Air Hangat Hot Springs-
Legend has it that during a bitter quarrel,
a potful of boiling water was spilt on the site where the hotsprings
are located.
- Telaga Tujuh(The Seven Wells)-
Trek through a hilly forest to these
wells believed to be bathing spot of mountain fairies.
- Pantai Pasir Hitam-
Till today, the mystery of the black sand on this
beach has remained unsolved. Maybe you can try to unlock
this mysterious phenomenon.
- Tanjung Rhu, Pantai Kok, Pantai Cenang & Pantai Tengah-
Engage in your favorite watersport here whether its windsurfing,sailing,
snorkelling or para-gliding. Or simply lie back and soak up the
the tropical sunshine and mesmerising sights that these beaches
offer.
- Gunung Mat Cincang & Gunung Raya-
These two mountains are said to be two legendary giant warriors turned into
stone because of their pride. The hill that appears to be separate these
mountains, Bukit Sawar, is supposed to be the third person who try to break
up the dispute between the giants.
- Pulau Dayang Bunting-Situated on this island is Tasik Dayang Bunting
(Lake of the Pregnant Maiden). It is believed that barren women who
drink from the lake will be able to conceive.

- Kuah-The humble one street 'capital' of Langkawi. Here you will find
many shops and and establishments that cater to the varied needs
of tourists.
- Gua Langsir-Explore one of the island's most awesome caves,home
to thousand of bats.
- Gua Cerita-On the walls of this caves,you will see Jawi inscriptions
that date back to 1754AD. You will also see rocks that somewhat
resemble furniture which gives you a rough idea how early settler
lived.
- Pulau Payar-Designated a protected marine park,the waters
around this area are home to a spectacular selection of tropical
fish and is claimed to support the largest number of coral
species in the country.
- Pulau Singa Besar-Currently being developed as a wildlife santuary,
this island will be spared from any man-made structures. Monkeys,
mousedeer, peacocks, a variety of exotic birds and other animals
roam freely in the wild.
- Langkawi Crocodile Farm-Malaysia's largest crocodile farm is home
to more than 1,000 crocodiles and alligators from all over the
world. Interesting highlights of your visit here include a
wrestling match between man and this ferocious reptile, an eagle
teasing the crocodiles and a visit to the farm's crocodiles
and a visit to the farm's crocodile skin souvenir.
